This month isn’t about “spring cleaning” your closets (though that helps!); it’s about spring cleaning your internal Mind.

1. Align with the Equinox

Have your heard of the word “Equinox”? Its an astronomical event that occurs twice in a year, one of them being in march.

The Spring Equinox (usually around March 20th) marks the moment day and night are of equal length. It symbolises the end of winter. During this month you can:

  • Practice Balance: Such as work-life balance or Consumed balanced meals to align yoourself to the day
  • Morning Sunlight: As the sun start to shine more often, try to step out to soak that sunshine deep down we all had been craving for all winters. This helps reset your circadian rhythm after the “dark” months.

2. Seasonal Eating: The “Green” Transition

In many regions, March is when we transition from heavy root vegetables to bitter greens and sprouts. These foods are naturally detoxifying for the liver, which, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, is the organ associated with spring.

  • In-Season: Foods such as asparagus, radishes, spinach, and snap peas at your local market are usually nourishing for the body.
  • Internal Hydration: Swap heavy lattes for herbal teas like peppermint, dandelion root, or nettle to help flush out winter sluggishness.

3. Gentle Movement & Grounding

Movement is such a fulfilling way to reset your body and mind and find some grounding through the day.

Are you one of those 75-hard or soft kind of fitness person? If you dont know or havent worked out much in winter.

Doing some soft grounding movments are ideal for you in march.

  • Earthing: If the ground isn’t too frozen, spend five minutes standing barefoot on the grass. This “grounding” can help reduce inflammation and improve sleep quality.
  • Flow over Force: Trade the heavy gym sessions for a fluid yoga flow or a long walk in nature to observe the literal changes happening in the environment.

4. Mental De-cluttering

We often talk about cleaning the house and decluttering, but what about the “tabs” open in your brain?

  • The Brain Dump: Spend 10 minutes journaling everything you’re carrying- worries, to-dos, and lingering winter “blues.” Once it’s on paper, it’s out of your head.
  • Digital Spring Clean: Unfollow accounts that make you feel “less than” and clear out your photo gallery. Make room for new memories.
