We have wasted those moments of our life in these things where as they could have been used to create magical memories that you would cherish forever

The idea of implementing of slow living is to be more present in life. to truly feel the moment.

So clearly, implementing things in your life that you stay more present is key!

With that also realising that its okay to do this at slower pace and not rush anything!

I know we want instant gratification, instant results at everything we do, that’s what living a fast paced life is!

This lifestyle creates the pressure as well as chase energy that makes us frustrated and burned out!

We do not want!

Instead we want embrace the idea of doing what is needed to day and forget about the result

Results will come when they have to as you keep own working!

In the last 2 years, I have implemented this idea onto my head and I have been able to feel so much at peace with my growth and its pace

1. Reading

Reading as a slow living hobby can be such a fulfilling experience.

It invites you to savor each word and immerse yourself in different worlds at your own pace.

Whether it’s curling up with a classic novel, exploring poetry, or diving into non-fiction, the key is to enjoy the journey rather than rush through it.

I truly enjoy reading books especially fictions lately! Its helps me slow down and immerse myself in a different world and learn about these characters and cultures so new and different from mine!

2. Walking

Walking is actually my topmost way to practice slow living and in fact I like walking at a slow pace for it!

Before I used to play a podcast while going on a walk but lately, if I am going to park or garden

I try not to listen to anything and really soak in my surroundings so I stay more present

3. Journaling

Another favourite hobby of mine that I have been actively doing for many years is journaling!

not everyday but I like to do it once week if not twice in a month, I write about highlights of my week/ month

My thoughts on how I am feeling about certain things in life and expressing my gratitude towards the small joys that happened over the course of a week or month

As well as writing about the lessons and mistakes to grow

Especially in the last year I have taken this practice more seriously as I was struggling with feeling happy around my life before that

by doing this I found that through the week there so many TINY but meaningful blessing that come in my life and

by journaling I was now able to make note of it!

4. Baking

If you enjoy Baking, it can be a wonderful way to connect with the present moment and find joy in the process

instead of rushing through the task, try romancing the whole experience of it!

Trying new recipes and tasting them alone to with family/friends can be so wholesome!

5. Hiking

Hiking as a hobby can be a deeply rewarding experience, combining physical activity with the beauty of nature

With this exercise, you cannot easily get lost in your head and imagination! You will be immersing yourself in natural landscapes, whether it’s forests, mountains, or coastal trails

6. Yoga

Its been one year since I started doing daily yoga, and I defiantly has been so much different nots just physically but mentally too. while I struggle with few breathing exercises to stay present

Doing yoga Asans truly keeps me present with my body, mind and soul!

I highly encourage you to start doing yoga if you want to connect and be present with your inner world instead of outside!

I truly love painting as a slow living hobby because it helps you express your emotions and find sort of peace in dwelling yourself in something.

You don’t realise how time passes away when you are immersed in creating an art

I have never tried but some people find joy in creative hand lettering, it for sure can be so fun. you can write letters for people as you practice this simple activity!

12. Meditating

A true mindful slow living hobby or an exercise that you must do whether as a hobby or not

meditating is also about connecting with your breath and innerself! You learn to be present and find clarity on what is it that you truly want and feel

I have tried candle making before and in fact I used to sell it too back in 2021 I believe it was small business thingy I did

I find so much joy in such things because my mind literally stops thinking as I am focused in making it!

For me candle making was one such thing that I used to practice as a hobby!

This makes me Nostalgic and reminds of the slow life I had as a kid always immersed in playing such bored games for hours by myself or friends / family

It did not matter what is going on in the world and we were just too busy trying to have fun while playing the game!

Another favourite of mine that I truly look forward to everyday. I am not into cooking as such

but when it comes to making my daily matcha or coffee, I never let anyone else make it

for me its such a therapeutic process!

From boing water, whisking my matcha/coffee and pouring down in aesthetic cup and witnessing the 2 layers forming as I pour in my glass

It just feels good!

I tried pottery making this year only as a hobby and took a class with a close friend o mine and trust me

It was the most fun experience for me, connecting with others while also creating something together with them!

Lately I have been very curious about astrology and have been to learn through YouTube in my free time and I really find it interesting!

Its not something I am going to use for career but only for learning more about myself!

I recently came across a girl on Instagram who used to make compote everyday routine reels on her page ands recently shared

She quit her corporate job so she can spend time making something she always loved doing in her free time
