7 Things to do at the end of every month

things to do at the end of every month

There is so much focus on how to start a new month but not so much on things to do at the end of the month. i find both equally important. While its to start a new month with list of things to do and accomplish

I feel the end of the month is so imprtant for relfection and even planning how you can increase your productivity and make better decision around finances, health and wellbeing and even career goals!

The end of the month is the perfect “reset” button. Itโ€™s that sweet spot where you can bridge the gap between who you were thirty days ago and who you want to be tomorrow.

In this post i will share 7 things to do at the end of every month

7 things to do at the end of every month

Here are 7 things to do to close the month with intention and start the next one with momentum:

1. The “Highs & Lows” Audit

Setting new goals without actual reflection on your previous month is like setting yourself up for constant mistakes without improvement. By reflecting we can see where things could be improved in our lives.

Reflect on the past four weeks. I called it the “Highs and lows” audit, where you write down your three biggest wins (no matter how small) and one challenge you faced.

Acknowledging your progress prevents the month from feeling like a blur and helps you carry that confidence forward.

2. Deep Clean Your Digital Space

Digital clutter is the silent killer of focus. 100 tabs open…getting easily distracted and not knowing what to focus on first!

In fact it also slows down your desktop!

  • Clear your desktop: File away or delete those random screenshots that you wont be using again!
  • Zero out your inbox: Archive emails youโ€™ve already handled.
  • Unsubscribe: Hit “unsubscribe” on at least three newsletters or accounts that no longer inspire you.

3. Reconcile Your Finances

End of the month is the best time to look at your finances and find ways where you can save more, invest in the right place for the next month

Look at your bank statements. Did you stick to your budget, or did “treat yourself” become a daily lifestyle? Categorize your spending so you can adjust your limits for next month.

Itโ€™s not about guilt; itโ€™s about awareness. I remember i would be in utter shock when i would sit and look at my finances after a long period!!

So much wasted in subscription that automatically got deducted from the bank, sepnt way too much money of coffee shops and so on!

Once i realised how much little money i was wasting and it would accumulate into a huge amount by the end of the month.

Create a budget and stick to for the next month and see how much difference does it make?

4. Perform a Physical “Deep Reset”

Another of my favourite things to do at the end of every month is to do a DEEP RESET. of my space.

Living in a messy space can truly impact your mental state and how restful you feel at home. and home is supposed to feel relaxing not heavy

Pick one area of your home that gathered dust or clutter over the month – like the fridge, the junk drawer, or your car – and restore it.

5. Set “Big Three” Goals

I used to love making list of goals and i would literally write down 10-15 things i wanted to do every month and guess what?

0

i would get zero things accomplished.

Don’t overwhelm yourself with a list of 10-20 New Month Resolutions. Instead, choose three major objectives for the upcoming month.

Example: Finish a specific book, hit a savings goal, or go for a walk four times a week.

Focusing on small but essential things, can actually help increase the chances of your actually getting done!

6. Check Your Subscriptions

Review your recurring charges. We often forget about free trials that rolled into paid memberships or streaming services we haven’t opened in weeks. Cancel anything that isn’t providing clear value to your life.

7. Schedule Your Joy

Open your calendar for the next month and plug in “non-negotiables.”

This includes doctor appointments and work deadlines, but more importantly, rest and fun.

If you don’t schedule a coffee date with a friend or a solo movie night now, the month will likely fill itself up with chores.

Tip: Try to do these on the last Sunday of the month. It turns the “Sunday Scaries” into a “Sunday Strategy.”
